MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Some question about conversion
Hello, I have a Rover SD1 gearbox and I want use it with the standard rear axle Salisbury. Wich driveshaft can I use? Tank's Grégory |

GKN will make you a special propshaft to connect the two. |
M Barnfather |
It will have to be made specially for you, but lots of companies can do that. You will need to measure the length from gearbox flange to axle flange. |
Mike Howlett |
If you switch to a MGC axle, you can use the SD1 flange on the rear. Something to think about before you have the shaft built. |
Kelly Combes |
Greg. If you have mounted the engine in the stock V8 position, V8 Conversions at Farnborough Kent may have a prop shaft in stock. Give Dave Vale a call 01689 858716 Suggest you measure flange to flange so you can make sure it will be the correct length. Kevin. |

I used the SD1 drive shaft, had it shortend and made an adaptor plate to match the MGB rear end. real close fit. I did not like the size of the U joints on the MGB unit. |
