MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Speedometer Re-calibration
Believe it or not Vancouver does not seem to have a place where I can get a speedometer recalibrated nor a speedo cable made up. Does anyone know a place where I can get this done? Thanks Bruce |

Hi Bruce If you check out my website, there is page on fitting Jaguar XJ6 clocks into chrome bumper dashboards. 3.07 & 3.30 ratio's are very common so no calibration required for most peoples setups. Do you have many scraped Jaguars in Canada? http://www.mgbv8.co.uk/ Nick |

This was on the V8 mailing list a few days ago: This may not be anything new for some people on the list but I found a shop that does custom speedometer cables and ratio adapter. They are familiar with British cars and gave me the following pricing. Cable - $30 Ratio Adapter - $49.95 ACI Engineering Portage MI 616-372-1991 Mike |

Michael I read your posting the other day and tried to contact these people this morning. Number has been disconnected and a search of the on-line yellow pages does not come up with a listing. Thus the request! Bruce |

That wasn't me who posted the company. road1978@hotmail.com (J Miller) is the one, you may want to write him. Looking in my local yellow pages, I see a company called Speedometer Repair Service Co. I'll give them a call tomorrow to see what they can do. Mike |

Just doing a 'speedometer calibration' search on Yahoo turned up these sites: http://www.ccspeedometer.com/ http://www.speedometerrepair.com/service.htm http://www.speedometerservice.com/Sales.htm I'm sure one of these guys would be able to do it. The only question is what do they charge? Mike |

Bruce: Try Specmo Enterprises Inc, 29624 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, MI (248) 399-5645 - they are located in SE Michigan. I have heard they do pretty good work. You may also want to call Nissonger - gauge repair and restoration in NY. They advertise in Hemmings and do alot of work on British parts. |

Sorry for the confusion Michael, but thanks all for the help. I'll check out the phone numbers and web sites. Couldn't do this with out all the help that has been given. Thanks again Bruce |
