MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Superchargers

What are some good options for supercharges for the Rover 3.5? Anyone that has had experience with these, are there also some out there to avoid?
Mark Koelsch

Sorry Mark,
It won't be that easy. Most pros won't loosen without an order (who could blame them), and we hobbiests are still scratching. Devine Intervention enter NOW!... Check David Harrdcasle's book "Tuning the Rover V8". It gives a starting point. I know I mentioned $$$. Best of luck, and again, what's the HP for?
Angus yet again

some of the aftermarket RangeRover specialists used to do a twin-turbo version, although space would be a problem in a B engine bay...

I've got an Eaton on mine. The last engine I had a turbo.

Paul, Surrey;
Looked at RPI web site and found no mention of superchargeing in what I thought were the relevant areas. Maybe they don't recommend it because they don't have a package? The Oldsmobile version of the 215 was tubocharged as a factory option 40 years ago. It is possible that the bearings at the front of the Rover engine (water pump, etc) won't tolerate the additional side load of a supercharger, as I have seen factory recemmendations not to use 150 amp alternators on other engines for this reason.
George B.

George,

You will find it under V8 Engines - 4.6 - 5.2 options.

I'm not a big fan of RPI products but Chris Crane has an awful lot of knowledge on these engines but may be as you say RPI do not sell supercharges. May be worth an email as all is not disclosed on site.
