MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - T5 Speedo Gear Part Numbes

Hey,
Anyone have off hand the GM part numbers for the drive and driven gears used in the T5 gearboxes? I specifically need the # for a 17 tooth driven gear. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nevermind, I found the part numbers for all of the driven gears that will fit.
Jake

Jake:
Would you care to share the part numbers here? I'll soon be to the stage where the BW T-5 wil be going into my car.
Phil

Phil,
Email me off the board or check my website under the Gauges section.

Jake,
You wouldn't happen to know the color of any of the drive gears would you? Specifically, how many teeth the purple gear has? Thanks!

Scott,
I'll check on it and get back to you.
Jake

Jake,
The link to your web page does not work for me. Got any suggestions on how to get there to view the speedo gear information? Or perhaps you could post it here?? Thanks for any help.
James Johanski

James,

Remove the comma at the end of the link and it will work.

Great info, Jake!
Carl

Scott,
The only purple drive gear that I can find has 10 teeth, but this info might not be totally correct as I have found conflicting gear color codes before. The best way to check the number of teeth is to lay it flat like a coin and count how many teeth start from the top. If the gear is still in the transmission, and you can see the flat sides, you can mark one of the teeth with a black marker, and spin the output shaft while counting the teeth until you arrive at the black tooth. Just a few suggestions. I'll post the drive gear numbers and color codes that I have on the webpage soon.
Jake

Thanks Jake! The trans is in the car now...I looked last night and I don't think I can see enough to count the teeth but I'll attempt to look again. The transmission is from an 86 v6 Firebird and has the original drive gear in it, which is purple.

You have a great site by the way. Regards -- Scott

Scott,
Did you find the speedo calibration Excel sheet I made? If not, I can tell you what the best driven gear to use with the 10T drive gear is, if you email me your speedo calibration number, rear end ratio and tire size.
Jake
Jake

Jake,
Yes, I did see your calibration sheet...that's what prompted my original question. Thanks for all your help!

Jake,
Just for the record I was able to count the teeth on my drive gear and, after triple checking it, I count 7 teeth. Regards,
Scott
