MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Tire recommendation.
Just a heads-up: I wanted to recommend highly the new Yokohama AVS-100 tires. I had a set of Dunlop 195/60/15s on my V8 and they were hard as rocks -- clearly designed for a much heavier car. I had the Yokos mounted up today, and they are so sticky it's almost silly. The tread is somewhat newfangled but you don't really notice it. |

Terrence, are those directional tires? how much was it for a set? |

Yup, they're directional. I think about $250 for the set, plus they mailed my kid, gratis, a nice big RC model Porsche that says "Yokohama" in bold letters -- smart brand managment! I usually run only 28psi both front & rear in a GT, gives a slightly more supple ride plus gobs of traction. These tires have a very flat tread section -- that is, they don't curve around into the sidewall; there's a sharp corner. As such, they do look like they mean business. |

Just my 2 cents worth.......If you have 14x6 wheels i highly recomend the dunlop sp8000 195-55-ZR14...That is if you want performance over wear. They do wear quickly in auto x. Check it out @ www.tirerack.com |

Shouldn't the request be Tyres????? :-) Always have been this side of the pond!! |

I say tires, you say tyres, heh. Leave ti our slaughtering of your language.. Hrmm, Thanks for the info, I know I want to go universal tread so that I can have a matching spare and rotate freely, but it is good to know what works.. I will be going for a set of 205/60r14's whenever I get time and $$ to do it. |
