MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Tyres

Advice please. Standard GT-v8 3.5 conversion. 6x15 rims, what tyres are the current prefered choice? Rear arches have lip returned (no sticky out bits) 98% road use. Hopkinson kits all round. Like things a little sticky against long life!! Thanks Richard

Yokohama 032R (195x60x15V) are about as grippy as it gets, don't last long though (4000 mls or less)

Goodyear NCT5 tyres are good in the dry and the wet and last around 25,000 miles on my V8

Toyo Proxez are as close to streetable racing rubber as you will get. May even be livable on the stree mileage wise.(10k) The BFG KD G Forces are suposed to be wonderful, and they start in the 15" size. R32's will also work well if you can live with the look and noise.

When I look at most V8 conversions,I am amazed at how undertired a lot of them are. With the available torque, this is no place to save a few bucks.

I'll second Chris Betson's advice on Goodyear NCT5 tyres being good in the dry and the wet.

If you can get the Kumho Vector 700 in the UK This would be a great choice, if not go for the NCT5 good year. You must keep track of tire pressures, Goodyear likes low tire pressures, this is due to the construction and resins used to make the compound.
195X60 tire was design for a heavier car, something to ponder about.
