MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - V12 in MGB?

Fella on another list swears somebody sells a kit for swapping a Jag V12 into an MGB. Anybody ever heard of such a thing?
Jim Blackwood

I don't know about a kit, but I do remember a photograph of a Jaguar V12 in a BGT back in the 80's in one of our British car magazines. I recall that it all fitted under the hood without a bulge. What the photo did not show was how much of the motor and transmission was intruding into the interior space of the car.
David Daw

Yes, it was done - at least once, possibly more times, and as David Daw says, there was a heck of a lot of work to make it all fit with the minimum of external clues. I recall it was featured in 'Enjoying MG' back in the 1980s, but I don't know where it is now. As for a kit --- I really doubt that would be feasible!!

No red-blooded male can read this thread without salivating. I had an opportunity to drive a V12 Mercedes S600 last week. Gobs and gobs of creamy smooth torque, as in the kind that imprints the seat upholstery pattern into your back. If the trac control had been off the tires would have simply liquefied. People's jaws already drop when they see the V8 badge on my car. A V12 would simply be over the top!

Or red-blooded female...

I remember seeing in a magazine (some years ago) a picture of a sprite with a Jag V12 in it! it was affectionately referred to as a Fright.
