MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - want latemodel wire wheel rearend
I am trying to find a good latemodel wirewheel rearend (I want the narrow width), I will be putting the steel wheel axles in it as well as 3.07 gears (so you could keep the wirewheel axles if you need them). I do prefer a late model one that has the sway bar mounts on it (just like mine does, for as little work swapping the 2 as possible) The price has to be reasonable and if you are too far for me to drive to, you must be able to rachet it down on a pallet and cheap truck ship it. Here is the address to send it to: Richard Morris 9101 Highland Drive Broken Arrow Oklahoma 74014 918-258-2855 home 918-277-9750 cell I can also drive into Tulsa at any freight dock and pick it up (I figure 75.00 or so that method of shipping, but till I hear of one, will not know for certain.) So, Has anyone got an extra laying around? Richard Morris |

Richard: Your steel wheel axles are going to be too long for the wire wheel rear end. I think you may be mixed up between the hubs which are removable and the axles. The hubs can be swapped over, but you will need the shorter wire wheel axle. Kelvin. |

I have gotten a couple of emails. I stand corrected, I do need the axles (So I am looking for the entire rearend). |

Richard, one of my fellow club members here in KC may have what you need, I'll check and get back to you. |

Found a rear axle assembly for you here in Kansas City. I can probably arrange delivery if you're not in too much of a hurry. |

Bill, I have just gotten an email from a guy in Texas with one from a 68 BGT. I have just asked his price. What is the price and what year is the one you found? KC is a little longer drive, but not out of the question (so shipping not required). I would prefer one that is newer simply for the sway bar brackets being on it (77 or newer I think). |

Not sure of the year. I haven't seen it yet, just talked to him on the phone last night. He's parted out a lot of B's over the years, I'd have to look at the axle to see if it has the sway bar mounts. For that matter I could also check the one in my A that I got from him. I'd swap if it has the bar mounts. Asking $200, but might come down a bit I suppose. I'll do some research on the sway bar mounts and get back. |
