Check out this site I saw it yesterday. www.classiccarmall.com/carsfs/sale2067.html

It looked good to me and it is in Georgia.

Looks like a nice car, but why would they use a 4-speed with overdrive? Clearly its life expectancy isn't long. I think you can do better.
Ted

Ted, the ad says it - he wanted it to be close to factory spec. If he obtained the correct GTV8 overdrive box then there's no reason it won't last for 10 to 20 years with correct use and maintenance. If it's an 1800 B box then it's a different matter of course....
David

Side pipes! factory like specs.???? what factory?
a good example on how to ruin the looks of a pretty car.

Martyn Harvey, the Canadian MG V-8 registrar, has a very nice MGB V-8 roadster for sale. He can be contacted at the Canadian register website at www.mgb.bc.ca/ca.mgbv8/

Sorry guys, I bought that beautiful burgandy B from Mark about a month ago. (I had him remove the side pipes.) The transmission is fine, and I expect it will be for a while. When it comes time to replace it, I'll go the 5 speed route.

Allan

allan,
hope youre into a different engine by then too because to use the adapter plate to the MGB gearbox, the starter mounting has to be cut off the aluminum v8 entirely. it uses the MGB starter. that is if its the same kit in the car as i saw advertized by mark for sale a few months ago.

Heres one...

Hefty price.. Must be something Special??

I am one for a few less cylinders........... 6 cylinders.
Must mean mine are 25% slower because I have 25% less cyls??

Just like a Porsche 944 naturally asperated (3.0L) 4 banger is half as fast as a Ford F250 pickup with a (7.7L) 460ci V8 right?

Terribly unfair comparision? Exactly!

Anyways, if you are willing to look at "other" styles of conversions, go to Shawn's website for a comparison of various V6 powered sites and cars.
http://www.v6mgb.com
my site, and others are linked there and you will find people who are willing to build and ship you a car from other locations in the united states to Your specifications. I have only seen one of these for sale. I don't see the V6 cars exchanging hands much as people have really enjoyed the end results.

Whatever your end result, best of luck to you in your quest for the right MG.

FYI, http://www.v6mgb.com didn't work for me with Netscape, but worked OK with Explorer.
