MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Wanted: Rover V8 engine

Before anyone says it I know there is a classifieds section but it's not very good.

I'm after a Rover V8, absolutely anything considered.

Ideally I'm after a 3.9 or larger short engine with low comp (8.13:1) pistons but anything will be considered. Must be in good running order. Heads are not required or ancilliaries - just the block and associated parts, preferably a carb engine.

I'll even take a 3.5 for the right price . . . I'm getting desperate! I'll probably blow it up soon anyway so the cheaper the better really . . !

Where are you? I've got a free high compression (10.5:1) engine (providing I can scrounge a couple of brackets off before hand)

It was running too (just very dirty)

Hi stuart, I'll take that engine mate! where abouts are you based? my email is ollyhayter@hotmail.com, mobile: 07790775391

What's your contact details please?

Mark,

Apparently it was fuel contamination, don't know how as there are three fuel filters on the car! That cost £320 to sort out but it's still breathing very heavily, practically undrivable. I need a new set of piston rings, therefore probably a full rebuild is best but there's no point on a pokey 3.5, hence the need for a larger capacity engine.

I'll keep you posted!

cheers

Stuart

ah sorry, busy day at work you see, i missed the fact that you'd already posted here before! As I said, I need an engine, any engine!

have you any contact details?

thanks
OT Hayter

Olly

email address is to the left <-
just remove THE FISH ;?)

I'm just off J11 of the M25

You can take the engine for free as it's been cluttering up the inlaws garage for ages and it's about time I gave him the space back.

As I said it's pretty sludgy but did run well when it was taken out (a few years back tho')
