MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - waterpump
Working on my cooling system, I've found it necessary to remove the waterpump from my 215 block. Went down to my favorite auto parts store to get a new gasket, and they no longer list a 215 in their catalog. I could probably make a gasket, but before I go to that bother, can anyone tell me what Buick or otherwise later model V6 uses that same pump and gasket? And what car it was used in, so I can supply the counter guy that info, to make looking it up easier? Thanks, Joe |

Try FEL-PRO Part # 129961 Wayne |

Thanks Wayne. I'll take that number down there. |

I used a Buick 300 pump on my 215. It had an improved vane design that seemed to pump better. I believe this was 1964~7. |

I use the Buick 300 water pump, too. It angles down under the alternator better. |

Thanks, guys. Come to think of it, I have the 300 pump as well; I had forgotten about that. The inlet points down more than the 215, giving more clearance. All I need is a gasket; they should be the same I guess. I took the Felpro number down and ordered two of them since they were less than 2 bucks apiece. Joe |
