MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Well well
I drove the car in the driveway for the first time this evening, up and back with no adverse effects. Next thing to do is get an exhaust system made, I believe. It's pretty loud with just the down pipes on. I just wanted to share, its my first time in an MGB V8. Thanks to all who have helped with info on this board, its paid off for me. |

Jake, Cogratulations and thanks for the post It's not quite as good as being there but your enthusiasm makes up for that. Cheers, Pete. |

Congrats! I remember my first drive. We took it to an industrial road on a Sunday afternoon and ran up and down a few times. That was scary and fun at the same time! Is the exhaust the last part you need to finish off the job? Justin |

Thanks for the congrats. I still have to put in carpets and panels along with permanent seats. I did get to synch up the carbs and readjust the mixture, it seems to be running and idling fine now. It is a bit lopey but that might be from the cam or the alum flywheel. I did find the the fan belt was cutting into the lower rad hose so I went to the local parts shop and found a few formed hoses and made a custom one that runs down behind the oil pump housing and under the rack. It now clears everything and doesn't get cut up. Monday I will try and get to the DMV for the temp registration and then to the exhaust shop. Then some break in mileage. Pics of the car can be seen on my site, new ones today in the engine and body sections. http://www.roverv8.com |
