MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - What are they?

Hi,

Can you please identify what these are for on my 3.5 Rover v8 inlet manifold?

Hi Gavin,

The first photo looks like temp. sending unit.

The photo number two is where the otter switch for
the cooling fans.

Another question - is there anywhere on a rover v8 to wire up the oil pressure warning light on the dash?
Gavin Jewkes

Gavin,
I have a factory V8 intake manifold and I run a dual oil pressure/temperature gauge. Where your sending unit is is where the capillary bulb screws in, and I tapped the remote filer housing and installed a TR6 oil line union to run a line for the oil pressure.
Here is a picture of each part.

Let me know if you would like any more pictures of this kind of setup.

The GTV8 oil pressure guage was fed from a tap on the side of the pump housing. I may have a diagram if you decide not to follow Jake's example.

If you only fit a warning light, you may find yourself permanently worried when it is on ! (I dial would be best)

Ignore me guys it's been that long since i've drove the mgb i was thinking the red light on the dash was an oil pressure warning light but it's not! it's my dads fault as he said to me yesterday "what are you doing about wiring up the red oil pressure light" so i thought i'd put up a post....

Cheers for the replies any guys i have got the oil pressure pipe flexi hose on order and on mine this connects to the oil pump base so i'll just have the guage working!!

Thanks again,

Gavin
