MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Wheels
I just installed a dana 44 rearend with 5 on 4.25" bolt pattern and would like to know if there is a hub with the same bolt pattern that will fit on an mgb front spindle.I would like to change to a nice set of aftermarket wheels. |

Ken, I believe that the MGC steel wheel hubs are this size. Not easy to find in the U.S., I realize. |

Not sure about fitting on front and rear, but I know theee' Mustang "Magnum 500" wheel looks a good bit like the MG Rostyle. Maybe converting th front end to the same 5 lug pattern and using them will be the best solution.. That or have the rear end chopped and put MGB tubes on it. I think I heard something about porsche front hubs, but it has been a while, I forgot most of what I found as it was cost prohibitive for me.. |

Ken I assume you want to go with the 5 lug bolt pattern, as I did as well. I went with MGC front hubs (5x4 3/4" bolt pattern). Its the same pattern as most chevy cars and s trucks. Easy to find wheels but hard to find the hubs. I had a machine shop redrill the rear axle bolt pattern to match the front, it was 5"x 4 1/2" (chrysler). If you can not locate a set of 5 lug hubs, another opition would be to have the rear axles redrilled to the 4x4 1/2" (MGB) pattern. Bill bill_jacobson@hotmail.com |

Larry is correct the porsche hubs are a bolt on,you have to buy an adapter to mount the caliper which is usually a wilwood.By doing this you have lighter hubs as they're aluminum along with better and lighter calipers. You also have the oppurtunity of purchasing a very wide variety of porsche wheels. They have a lot of offsets and you can go as light as you can afford. Can you tell i plan on doing this to my conversion......Greg |

Are original V8 wheels still made and on sale ? |

Greg and Ken, I have the Porsche rotors and hubs installed with the Wilwood calipers. Works great and looka great too! No interference with the fenders evn with th 15x7 rims and 215/60x15 tires. If you need info for this mod, e-mail meand I sent some pics. The Porsche I used for the parts is the 944 Relatively easy to find and not too expensive. I can provide you with th brackets if you go the Wilwood route. About the Dana rear end. I am working on a Volvo rear end to fit the"B" Werner |
