MG MGB GT V8 Factory Originals Technical - Which oil/air filters?

Rover 4.2 L with Hot wire EFI. What remote mounted oil filter (H1 style) and what "K&N" stle air filter do you recommend?

I don't know what H1 style is. If that is the B V8 oil filter base, then you could use Fram PH43. This is the orange filter, with anti-slip coating. Also used on Toyota Landcruiser, so easy to obtain.

Airfilters...lots of choice here. K&N, or something else. Up to you.

Hi Frank,
H1 is the "Ford" style screw thread, 3/4"
H2 is the "Chevy" style screw thread, 13/16"
Re air filters, I was fishing for which K&N (or other) fits on the input end of the MAF, which is 3 3/8" diameter

The KN fits on the input end of the MAF.
I have no experience with the Ford screw thread.
What I did to figure out what I can use on my car, is to take it to a wholeseller. They saw the old oilfilter and came up with some alternatives. The same with with the airfilter. Then I ordered what I wanted and wrote the partnumbers down. The software showed the different applications for filters; that's why a know the ph43 fits to my fact. original B GT V8.
I think you can best follow more or less the same route to figure out what fits. Especially since I see no other comments.

I have a 5.0L Ford V8 B with remote oil filter and am using Motorcraft FL-1A--its a good size filter and has anti-drainback valve, these are a Purolator filter I believe. I also use this filter on my regular B . Hope this helps --Gil

Hi All,
Thanks for the input on the oil filter, what about the air filter? Does anyone have a part number for the right size K&N (or similar) part?

try the K & N website, under universal filters, chose round, tapered. Look for the diameter that matches your A/F meter, & the length that will fit the space you have under the hood.

knfilters.com in your search engine.

Hi Jim,
Will do, thanks
